France international Alexandre Lacazette is hoping to make a key impression for Arsenal during the final stages of the season. The Gunners are in the driving seat to reach the last four of the Europa League after beating CSKA Moscow 4-1 in the quarter-final first-leg, and the Frenchman is aiming to guide the club to trophy success in Lyon next month.

Speaking to reporters, he said: “I missed football a lot during my break. I have come back stronger, but it is true scoring on my comeback on Sunday (against Stoke) helped. It's important for me because in the (Premier) league, Aubameyang is going to play, unless the coach plays the two of us together. But I know in European competition, it is the chance to show plenty of things for me. I am desperate to win this trophy and, when we play like we did tonight, we can go far.”

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has issued a public apology to Henrikh Mkhitaryan after he was substituted midway the Red Devils' win over Derby County in the FA Cup. The Armenia international made his second straight start of the campaign versus the Rams, but he only lasted until the half-time break.

Speaking after the game, Mourinho felt it was unfair on his part to sub Mkhitaryan, but he did not have much of a choice as he had to enforce a change to change the dynamics of the match, he said: "[It was] unfair [to take Mkhitaryan off] and I told him that at half-time.
"I didn’t like what I did. He didn’t deserve it, he was playing well, he wasn’t playing bad. He had a couple of missed passes but he was playing well and giving a good dynamic to the team. My feeling was just that Rashford is not going to score a goal and because of that I’m not going to lose time and I’m going to play Romelu [Lukaku] so then I had to sacrifice a player."

Leeds United are set to clash with Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium on Friday. However, bad weather is posing a serious threat. The snow and ice would be dangerous to the game, which could mean that it will be called off, according to reports.

If the weather conditions do not change and Boro ready to continue with the fixture, the game would have to be rescheduled. Both sides would be hoping to avoid a rescheduling as they do not know what the future holds as the season runs to a close.
