New Barcelona signing Neymar has said that Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney should consider joining the Catalan giants if he decides to leave Old Trafford.

Rooney has been subject to intense transfer rumours over the last few months. He offered the transfer request to the club at the end of last season.

Former manager Sir Alex Ferguson said in his final words as the manager of the club that there would be no chance of Rooney being sold in this transfer window. Despite such statements, it is widely taught that Rooney may leave for around £ 30 million depending upon the outcome of talks with new manager David Moyes.

If he decides to leave United, Rooney will find no shortage of offers from clubs both in England and abroad. Chelsea, PSG, and Barcelona have shown tremendous interest in the player. They will not only be capable of matching the wage demands of the player, but also the transfer fee demanded by United as well.

After joining Barcelona for around £ 50 million, Neymar is expected to be the star of the club alongside Lionel Messi. Despite boasting an impressive forward line up, Barcelona are thought to be interested in signing a striker.

"The style of football Barcelona play and the level of the players we have - we are the perfect club for the top players to join. I have met Wayne on a few occasions and he seems a good guy but importantly, he is one of the players I admire most in the world. Wayne is one of the most gifted and technical players in the world.

Of course he would improve Barcelona. He would improve any club in Europe," said Neymar, who comes on the back of an impressive Confederations cup with Brazil in which he showed signs white Barcelona paid £ 50 million for him.
