Rafael da Silva of Lyon is rumored to be on the radar of the Premier League club West Ham United but the English outfit might have to search for another defensive player as the 26 year old Brazilian defender is a consistent starter for Lyon and it’s difficult to believe that he will be making a move away from the club where he made a huge impact.

The Brazilian defender joined Lyon back on August of 2015 as he penned a 4 year long deal with the French club and ever since Rafael da Silva kicked completed his move to his new club; he has been a consistent starter.

Taking into consideration the fact that Rafael has been a first-team player since he arrived to Lyon, it will make him moving away from the French outfit difficult which is bad news for West Ham United as the Premier League club wanted to secure the services of the Brazilian player who has an affinity for going upfront.

For a price tag of £2.5m, Rafael da Silva made his move from Manchester United to Lyon and it has turned out to be one of the best signings that Lyon has made in recent times as the 26 year old defender is worth much more and they can offload him at a much higher price or simply keep him in the team as Rafael da Silva is a solid option in the back-line of the team.

Rumors originally started to link West Ham United with Lyon back in the spring of 2016 but a move never fell through, the Premier League club might attempt to re-sign Rafael da Silva in this year but it seems highly unlikely that it will happen unless a very good offer is launched towards the French outfit who are currently trying to snatch the top spot of Ligue 1, in the previous season, Lyon had to settle with the 2nd spot and they are now attempting to push forward.
