DA SILVA CELEBRATES UNITED WIN

Former Manchester united defender, Rafael da Silva, celebrated with the Red Devils as they lifted the FA cup over the weekend winning by 2-1.

Manchester united played the final against Crystal Palace after moving past Everton 2-1 in a keenly contested encounter. Crystal Palace on the other hand shocked Watford FC in the semi final with a 2-1 victory as well.

Despite struggling at the Premier League, Palace hoped to defeat Manchester United to land a silverware at the club but Manchester united were not having it. They were firm favourites entering the match, with the sports bookmaker StanJames offering betting odds of just Evens on a United win.

The match was one in which former coach, Sir Alex Ferguson and former captain Rio Ferdinand reunited. Ferdinand, 37, currently is with BT Sport as a Pundit. The ex-England international tweeted pictures of him and the retired tactician. Other former Red Devils’ players showed support and Rafael da Silva was one of them.

The Brazilian player also took to twitter where he posted, via his personal handle “Cmon reds let’s take that trophy after long time. Good luck for the boys,” adding emoticons.

Silva spent most of his youth at the club since moving to England from Brazilian club Fluminense Under 17 in 2008. He played for the academy of Manchester United before breaking into their senior team.
